Presenter: Chris Balow, Illuminator

Description: It is vitally important that schools develop and employ early warning systems (EWS) that identify students that are at-risk for academic failure as well as general student disengagement and mental health concerns. The systematic use of data to identify at-risk students as early as possible will promote more effective prevention and intervention services.  A thorough analysis of risk indicator patterns will also help districts better understand the root causes of student disengagement, mental health issues and academic failure.  Reviewing the EWS data over time assists schools in determining the effectiveness of intervention programming overall, for groups of students, and for individual students. During this presentation you will learn about research-based methodologies and measures for effectively identifying at-risk students.  You will see case study examples of how Illuminate Education’s “On-Track” software system will support your EWS efforts.
